May HealthTea Book Crate Review

I love to read, I love tea, and I love subscription boxes. These 3 loves came together in the most perfect birthday present, a 3 month subscription to HealthTea Book Crate.

HealthTea Book Crate is a small subscription business that operates bimonthly, each month curating a collection of tea, a book written by a female author, and other goodies to promote self care and health. The wellness focus of the box is exactly what I need with a stressful lifestyle, and being introduced to new books and tea is my favorite idea ever. It’s just brilliant, so artful, and worth every penny! Each month costs $58, and you can save some money if you purchase a 6 month or yearly subscription.

HealthTea Book Crate was an idea born from the love of reading, drinking tea, & focusing on good health for the mind and body. Our goal is to share good vibes and experiences with fellow lady readers who enjoy reading some of the best books being published today by women authors.

Every other month, we send our subscribers a book crate that is carefully curated around our chosen theme. Each box features a hand-selected, recently released fiction novel, a tea from a small vendor, and several self-care products and bookish goods that support local artisans.

May’s theme was Four Elements, and brought together a poetic, lyrical novel with the earth’s four elements. It was a very well thought out theme, and complimented the book perfectly. The box was grounding, and emphasized our interwoven nature with each other and with the earth, even during a time that may feel isolating.

I absolutely loved this box! Every bit of it! From the personalized birthday card to the thoughtful packaging, the whole thing was made with love. There were handmade details like dried flowers, heart punches, and calligraphy. I swooned. When someone loves what they do, it immediately shows and makes me glow with happiness to support them. Each paper element was touched with passion and care!

The box composition itself was also spot on. There was an item for each element, including tea and other goodies, then the star of the show, the book, Latitudes of Longing by Shubhangi Swarup. I wanted to wait until I read the full book and tried everything before I gave you a full review, and I am glad I did. This will give you a mini book review, and a glimpse of the service!

This book was a beautiful story the traced interconnected love stories, seeking true intimacy across time and space in India. We experience true emotions as we go through different environments, like an island, valley, and city. I was completely enveloped in this book, and moved throughout the story. The first couple was my favorite part of the book, causing me to smile, laugh, and cry. This book was not only a journey across time and space, but also into hearts.

I highly suggest picking this book up, it’s poetic and leaves a lasting mark.

Fire: Cinnamon Plum Herbal Tea by Rishi Tea and Botanicals

This delicious tea was warming and sweet, yet unique and light. It was perfect to brew while curling up on a summer night to read the book. It made me feel cozy and comfortable with the hits of cinnamon, but the plum brought a light and fresh flavor. Such a great tea choice, and well thought out too. It paired well with the emotional fire that was brought by the book!

Water: Sea Salt and Almond Bar by Srsly Chocolate, Tx

As a chocolate lover, this did not disappoint! The fun packaging was home to a beautifully handcrafted dark chocolate bar inside with a lot of body and a great crunch of almond. This was what I broke out for dessert after I ate lunch while working during the day, and I was sad when I ate it all!

Air: Jasmine Green Tea Facial Steam by Selia & Co, NY

What a creative idea! This gave me such a nice spa day after a stressful day on the screen. The minute I added hot water to the floral mixture full of jasmine, roses, and more, the air smelled like heaven. I let my skin feel the warmth and benefits of the herbs, and it was so relaxing. Afterwards, I used some of the tea on a cotton ball as a toner, then actually used it as a foot soak. I made the most of this treatment!

Earth: English Lavender Waxed Planter, Modern Sprout, IL

My plant window sill welcomed the addition of this self watering planter, and the container looked so cute! Unfortunately, the seeds didn’t sprout, but I did recycle the container for another herb! I do love the idea of self-watering, especially since I am more of a succulent type of plant owner.

This box was a journey that I loved, bringing spiritual, physical, and mental wellness into my life. It’s truly unique to be introduced to new books and accompanying products that will make the experience so well rounded. Stay tuned for July’s review!
