Some digital productivity tools can feel overwhelming, while others are a breath of fresh air to organize your life in intentional and thoughtful ways. For me, Notion breathes life into my workflows.
Notion is an online workspace that can serve as a haven for documents, project timelines, notes, and more. It also can be shared with teams to facilitate collaborative work. With checklists and databases, you can create a connected and thoughtful workflow for any project.
Another bonus? You don’t have to start from scratch. The community has thousands of open source templates, and there’s plenty of resources all over the web to help you out (so if you feel overwhelmed at first, give it a fair shot with a longer test period). The yearly advanced plan is under $50, which really isn’t that much to allow for sharing and the storage of large documents, among other perks.
Businesses may use this to collaborate on projects, students on projects, or even teachers with classrooms. For me, I have some core things I use the space for (which is constantly in flux as new things pop up in my life).
Wedding
This has been the shared hub for my fiance and I to plan our upcoming wedding. Our uses have changed throughout the planning process, and some of the things we’ve created and used include our wedding day timeline, a wedding vendor database for all the people we’re booking, and a guest database with addresses, rsvps, and more! We also used it to keep track of our venue search when we had over 50 different venues to choose from! One final use? Our daily to do list for all the month out tasks we must accomplish!
School
I’ve been using Notion throughout my entire PhD and MPH, using it to keep track of my schedule, my ideas for writing, and my statistical analyses. One of my favorite uses is the paper writing database I developed! I can keep track of all my published papers, as well as the revision process for peer review.
Blogging & Social Content
This is probably one of my most used areas of my Notion hub. To keep track of blogs, instagram posts, collaborations, and analytics, I have a whole subsection devoted to my content calendar and influencing goals. From finances to monthly website upkeep, it’s all in one place!
Household Management
Notion is a great place for me to keep track of all things household. This includes databases for recipes I’d like to make, as well as a cleaning list with my daily, weekly, and monthly tidying checklists. One of my current favorite pages is the one where I keep track of different recipes from all my cookbooks that specifically uses up a type of garden produce…anyone else getting deluged with cucumbers?
Beauty & Shopping
I keep a running beauty database on my Notion where I review all of my products so I can keep track of all the things I’ve tried, my favorites, and my upcoming purchases. Also, I have a database of places to shop, and a running wishlist!
I highly suggest checking out Notion for all your planning, organizing, and project management needs. It has become an integral part of my life the past year (pretty much my left hand lady), and I can’t imagine my workflows without it!
