We all know I sing the praises of Ame Salon and Spa, and even though I graduated from Bryn Mawr, I still stay up to date with all the goings-ons on the mainline.
When Ame Salon and Spa was offering a special on the Hydrafacial, I knew I had to drive down to treat my skin. For one day, the Hydrafacial was only $75, rather than the usual $185. I love when spas do specials like this, because you can try a new procedure without the fear of spending the full price.
The Hydrafacial is a high tech facial that uses a cutting edge machine to suck things out and put things in (that’s the bare bones of it, but I put in some information from their site below so you can learn the science behind the facial).
This innovative technology delivers instant and long-lasting results that you can see and feel. With ongoing treatments, you’ll notice intensely improved hydration, minimized dark spots and dramatically reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
HydraFacial serums are designed to create long lasting, healthy skin for skin types in as little as 45 minutes.
The unique Vortex-Fusion® serum delivery system is what sets the HydraFacial® apart from other procedures. The multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. Thanks to the devices’ superior delivery system, these performing ingredients are able to more effectively help mitigate environmental damage, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, and plump & firm skin for long-term results you can see and feel instantly.
Isn’t that awesome! Through a gentle cleanse and exfoliation, extraction, and moisturizing antioxidant treatments, your skin is well on the way to smooth, plump glory.
The Ame Spa Experience is a step above, in addition to the incredible facial, you can change into a robe, enjoy calming music and candles, and are treated with so much respect and kindness. I could have left the spa as red as a tomato, and they all still made me feel beautiful.
As for the facial, first, my skin was cleansed and examined. I have a fine line on my forehead that bothers me (though no one else even claims to see it!), and recently, I have had a lot of congestion in my pores.
There were three disposable tips on the machine, and the first tip did an exfoliation and peel of my skin. The suction feeling was unique, and it definitely felt like a deeper treatment than I’m used to. Then, the extraction head pulled all the congestion out of my pores. That was well needed! Finally, the antioxidant treatment infused my skin on a deeper level with great ingredients, like horse chestnut seed.
I was even fortunate enough to experience the LED Dual Light Therapy. The blue light went deep into the skin to kill acne causing bacteria, while the red light stimulated the growth of collagen. The LED paddles felt slightly warm, and not only was it relaxing, but also, it was an extra treatment that addressed both of my skin concerns, anti-aging and acne.
Immediately after, my skin was glowing! It felt clean and hydrated, and the dewy look lasted throughout the day. I was only slightly red, but overall, my skin looked great. My makeup went on smoothly, and the bumps I was noticing are less.
One can always expect a stellar experience with Ame.
