Bachelorette parties, love them or hate them, they can be a high old time! I wanted mine to be classy, inclusive of my 15 year old sister, and something a bit different than your usual destinations. We aren’t huge partiers and all were need of some R&R. In comes Rockaway Beach, the city/beach destination perfect for a relaxing, boujee time with your friends.
Where to Stay
The whole trip was planned around the Rockaway Hotel, a luxury beach hotel with a pool, spa, several restaurants, and a wellness focus. This hotel has all the amenities. A welcome drink, a pool with poolside service, several restaurants, and a luxury spa. There’s also evening entertainment and free morning wellness classes. We stayed in an ocean front balcony queen room, and we loved the artistic decor and boutique vibes.
Where to Eat
The absolute best meal of the whole trip was at Rocco’s of Roc Beach. This small Italian restaurant knows how to provide house made meals. House made burrata, ricotta, pasta, and more, there’s not a wrong choice on the menu! The cacio y pepe has a house made spaghetti and it is made in a giant cheese wheel, which is a one of a kind experience! My friends enjoyed gnocchi, vodka sauce, and burrata was well, and we all raved about this meal all weekend!
For breakfast, I’d suggest walking across the street from the hotel to Boardwalk Bagel & Delicatessen. They serve up the most delicious NY style bagels at such a steal. I could have eaten several more while I was there, but these were the biggest bagels I’ve ever seen!
What to Do
When at Rockaway Beach, I’d suggest making sure you carve out some beach time for sure (duh). Beyond that, take advantage of all the local arts events that seem to be going on all summer long, check out the small artisan boutiques. If you stay at the Rockaway Hotel, indulge on poolside bottle service, spa treatments, and morning wellness classes.
This was such an incredible time, and if you’re looking for something a bit different for your bachelorette party, I highly recommend Rockaway Beach!
