A Weekend in Boise, Idaho

A had the pleasure of visiting my best friend and watching her compete in Miss Idaho USA 2019 this past weekend, and when I wasn’t at Boise State University cheering her on, I was able to see some wonderful sites in Boise that I would recommend to anyone traveling there!

Where To Eat

  • Barbacoas– This delicious Spanish flare steakhouse was my most memorable meal in Boise, and the restaurant is truly top notch. I haven’t had a steak as good as my steak there in years, and even better, it was truly unique! The decor meshed rustic Spanish flare with modern art, and the presentation was spectacular, with table-side guacamole and a steak served on a hot rock and lit on fire! I also had incredible mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The setting is right on a pond with the view of the foothills surrounding you.IMG_6498
  • Big City Coffee- If you need a delicious, hip brunch place, look no further than Big City Cafe in Boise’s Linen District. The rustic cafe is covered with signs and vintage farm themed items, and the food is fresh and generous, plated in a rustically beautiful fashion. Make sure to snag a table as soon as you see one! I had orange blossom tea and the :tree Hugger” plate which had steamed eggs, fresh fruit, veggies, tofu, and salsa. Delicious!

Where To Go

  • The Village at Meridian– An absolutely beautiful outdoor shopping center away from the city, the Shops at Meridian have wonderful stores, stunning architecture, a quaint movie theater, and delicious restaurants like Grimaldi’s Pizza! It is a great way to soak up sunshine, go shopping, and spend some time in the clean air.IMG_6529
  • Cost Plus World Market– Although not exclusive to Boise, it was worth mentioning because I had never been in such a fun store with world wide goods, food, and wine. If you’ve never been, stop by for some treats!
