It was my final May Day this past Sunday, and it was a bittersweet moment. I didn’t let the rain bring me down, and I wanted to share some photos, experiences, and memories of the day spent with friends and loved ones.
My Look
I wore a beautiful sheer lace maxi dress (that was actually a wedding dress from Ebay). I paired it with my flower crown (and a sweater and rain boots for practicality). My makeup was glowing skin and a gorgeous purple eye that was shiny, bright, and colorful (different than my usual browns). I wore a pink lip as well, that added a spring-y touch.
The Morning
The morning was full of fun traditions that made for wonderful smiles and laughs, even in the pouring rain. I first went to senior breakfast for strawberries and cream, and mimosas.
There was then the May Day parade, with a carriage and dancers, a May Pole dance, and a hoop race. It was so fun being part of the senior tradition of the hoop race, running down senior row with my Bio Anthro decorated hoop.
Photo Session
After the traditions, we all had some time to take photos. We went to our theater, up on the roof, and splashed in some puddles. I find this part fun, because there are so any dreamy spots on this campus, and with the dresses and flower crowns, it’s just a cohesive, instagram-worthy picture.
Day Time Activities
During the afternoon, the whole carnival was moved inside, but there were several fun activities including a photo booth, card making, cupcake decorating, and treats. I had the card maker draw one for my mom for Mother’s Day, and I made sure to indulge on some cotton candy!
That Evening
My friends and I rejoined in the evening for a game of Cards Against Humanity, which made sure our evening ended with just as many laughs as our day began with.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
