I love to cook, which you’ve probably gathered from my cookbook reviews, meal kit reviews, and quick recipes. I also love to dabble and try to come up with my own unique recipes, like this cabbage or bagel turkey! I know, they sound silly, but they’re actually delicious.
Before I got this book for Christmas, I had been hand writing in a little notebook. The notebook has gotten beaten up and stained, and it’s honestly not the prettiest way to keep my recipes. It works for me, but I don’t want anyone else to see it!
This recipe book was a gift from my grandmother, who knows the value of a good book to pass down. It has some informational pages, an excellent design, and these really nice recipe cards that fit within clear plastic pages. It’s organizable, high quality, and a really beautiful way to keep track of recipes and display them.
This book means a lot to me, because it reminds me of the books I often look at from my Great Grandmothers. The fact that although I never met these women, their spirit and cooking live on through their books (with their commentary and personal flare added) allows me to feel like they are right there with me when I cook. I want to have my own book like that, so I can pass it on to my kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
I love this book, and I love the meaning it holds. As I fill it out, I’m remembering it not only for me, but the traditions it holds!
