Eyeshadow Panning Project- Budget Organization

I don’t know about you, but this pandemic has led to me neglecting my makeup collection. Nothing has gone in, and nothing has left. This resulted in a messy drawer full of small eyeshadow palettes, old products, and single shadows. But now I’m ready to get to work organizing, refreshing, and making my cosmetics feel new.

So, rather than throw products out, I’ve been testing the shadows in my mini palettes, bigger older palettes, and singles to see what I love. I then depot the ones I love, and either give away or trash the rest. If a palette is just an all around win, I just keep the whole thing.

This helps me go through the shadows that are probably too old, while also making sure I still have a selection of products I love. It keeps my collection fresh, but also clears out some stuff I don’t need, making room for organizing. I also really love the ability to have multiple different brands and shades in one palette, rather than carrying around a bunch of small ones.

To do this, I’ve been using my old eyeshadow collection, some heat and a knife to de-pan, and this incredible palette from Amazon to put them into! It’s like a z-palette (if you were into the beauty youtube back in the day, you know). It comes with magnets, but I had some extras on hand from other craft projects too.

Up next, I am going to target my blushes, highlighters, and bronzers to really condense and consolidate my collection. Is this something you’d do?

All thoughts and opinions are my own.
