Full Face of Shop Miss A Makeup: Summer Edition

Last summer, I did a full face of $1 makeup from Shop Miss A, and awesome cosmetics site that has low priced makeup that is shockingly awesome. The products are hit or miss, but I actually found some holy grail items from that last round, so I went and ordered more! The theme for this full face was more about effortless summer makeup, rather than the full glam I did last time.

Keep on reading to learn about the products I got, how I used them in this look, and my thoughts, as well as some overall reflections from this awesome site! These are in order of application, and marked as hits, misses, or average.

Amuse Cosmetics Color Correcting Face Primer Radiant Glow Pale BalanceAverage

This primer comes out as a purple, thicker consistency, and it goes on like a thicker lotion. On the color correcting side, I don’t notice much, or any glow. As far as a primer, I tried it under multiple products and have no real complaints. Stick foundations go on well over it! Is it a must have? No. But it is a good primer if you’re looking for something simple to help makeup go on! I put this on first in this look.

Amuse Cosmetics 3 in 1 Foundation Stick in Fair– Average

At first, this was going to be in the miss category, but it really does look good on. The fair color, at first, does not look fair at all. It’s quite dark in the tube and striped on the skin. But once it’s blended in, it honestly looks great. It matches my skin color, blends out well, and has great coverage. The smell though, the smell is just so bad I can’t get over it. I plan to continue using this, but I don’t count on repurchasing as a must have, because the smell is just too strong. This was the second step of the look, and I striped it all over my face, then blended with the brush, which I am talking about next.

AOA Studio F27 Blending BrushHit

Don’t walk, run to get this brush! My first set of brushes from AOA didn’t wow me, but this is an incredible brush that I use every day. The short and sturdy wooden handle are great for buffing, as it the soft and thick flat top bristles. Foundation goes on streak free and smooth, and this is also great for blending other products out. This brush costs a bit over $1, because part of the purchase is donated to a girls school. AOA gives back and provides great products! I used this to blend out my foundation, contour, and cream blush.

AOA Studio SculptFX Contour Cream Stick in NudeAverage

If you’re looking for a budget way to get into contouring, this stick is a great move. It’s easy to use on the face, creamy and blendable, and can be built up. The color range is awesome too. I still find some of my higher end contour creams to work better for the look I like to go for, and this did ball up on top of one of my foundations, but overall it works well. The shade isn’t the best for my skin tone, but there’s so many others to choose from. I just striped this under my cheekbones today and blended.

AOA Studio Creme Sheer Hush Blush in CupidHit

Oh la la, this cream blush gives such a nice flush! Hush is a reddish/pink cream that gives you a glow from within. When it first goes on, it looks like way too much, but then once you blend it in, the blush is perfect. Make sure to use with a brush and stipple it on then blend. When I used my fingers, it got streaky, but with the brush, it’s perfect!

AOA Studio Perfect Setting Powder in Soft LightHit

I’ll be honest, setting powders are essential in my routine, but I really can’t tell the difference between different brands (be it high end or drugstore). This powder is really loose and fine, and sets my makeup without looking chalky. I put it all over my face once I finished the cream products. I’ve been using this a ton, and it feels lightweight on the skin. Great powder!

Amuse Cosmetics Eye Shadow Primer in Clean SlateHit

Besides the brush, this is one of my favorite products from the whole batch! This little pot is full of magic. I’ve tried plenty of high end primers and have never really been a fan or found them necessary, but when I put this on my lids, my shadows look awesome and stay! This kept eye makeup in place during my graduation, a 90 degree day under a hot tent. I prefer to apply with a brush.

AOA Studio Velour Eyeshadow in VogueHit

Using a finger to place this all over the lid, I get such a sparkling and creamy look that is perfect for effortless, one shadow styles. This doesn’t crease, feel greasy, and sets to a powder. This formula is magic, and it has such a beautiful, sparkling pigment to it. This color is a gorgeous pink/purple, and I plan to try more! I prefer to apply with my fingers and blend the edges with a brush to keep it metallic. It also works well with powder shadows without getting funky.

AOA Studio Wonder Liquid Eyeliner in BrownMiss

Wow, is this not a favorite! I was so excited to use it, and even though it smelled bad, I had hoped the application would be worth it. The formula was streaky and not pigmented, the brush was big and chunky, and when t dried down, it felt like cement on my eyelashes. It actually hurt to wear, so I definitely would not recommend. It was impossible to remove, so I guess if you’re looking for insane staying power, this could work.

AOA Studio Rita LashesMiss

These lashes looked gorgeous in the box, but the band was super thick and heavy, and they also didn’t lay right on my eyes. They stood straight out and honestly looked ridiculous. I don’t find the band to work for me, but there are some other great lashes that aren’t the AOA brand on the site.

LA Colors Auto Lipliner in PinkyHit

This is a great budget lip liner in a my lips but better color! It goes on smoothly, and I actually put it on my whole lips with some lipbalm. It has great staying powder and isn’t too hard!

Overall, Shop Miss A is a must shop makeup site! I love the AOA brand for the most part, and find I have really good luck with color products like shadows, lipsticks, and blushes (etc). A socially minded company, I am so proud to support them and will be placing another order soon!
