Pinky’s up, it’s tea time! You all know I have been a lover of tea subscriptions, and I decided I wanted to branch my horizons into a small business with high quality and unique blends. Meet The Whistling Kettle.
The Whistling Kettle is actually a cafe and shop based in Upstate New York, but they have an excellent e-commerce presence. In addition to just selling their excellent tea blends, they have a Tea of the Month Club! Each month in the adventure pack, I receive 5 different loose leaf blends with a mix of caffeinated and caffeine free teas.
The Whistling Kettle has the best service I’ve ever experienced out of the tea subscriptions I’ve tried, and they ship SO fast. I’ve had a lot of issues previously, so I really appreciate that! They take care in their packaging, from the individual teas, included information packet, and the subscription as a whole. I have been so happy with this club, and the high quality teas boost it. Let me review my April box so you can see how dynamic this package really was.
Paradise Blend-This tea is chock full of exotic fruits like Star Fruit, Dragon Fruit, and Gojiberry, and the name is fitting. This green tea blend tastes like a tropical summer morning, and I actually have been looking forward to starting my morning with it. There’s a lot of chunks of the dried fruit too, so you know it’s real.
Happy Tea
So, this is my least favorite of the batch, but it is still a delicious blend. There’s green tea, raspberry, and hibiscus, and they come together in a light blend. It’s described to be a great iced tea, so I’ll have to try it that way!
Carrot Cake
This herbal blend really tastes like carrot cake! There’s carrots, raisins, and cinnamon, and it turns into a sweet and creamy tea that feels like a perfect, calorie free afternoon pick me up.
Lavender Lemonade
My favorite of the batch, this tea is just SO pleasant. It has white chocolate and vanilla in it, leading to a creamy flavor, with lemon and lavender contributing to a tart and floral mix. This one will be incredible in an iced latte, and I plan on upgrading to a full bag once I run out!
Purple Whole Leaf
What a unique tea, this purple leaf tea is from the Nandl Hills of Kenya, and is similar to green tea but also has a compound called anthocyanin (like what is found in blueberries), giving it the color! It’s full of antioxidants, but also has a great earthy flavor.
What are your thoughts on this? My May shipment just came in the mail and I’d love to share that too if you are interested!
