Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner

I credit Olaplex to fixing my hair. After some severe bleaching that I foolishly put my hair through a year and a half ago, my natural waves and curls were fried. My hair was flat, felt like hay, and it was breaking. The curls were stringy, fuzzy, and not defined. My ends? Fried.

After putting in lowlights, glazes, and toners, my hair still needed a lot of TLC to get it back to it’s natural glory and to make it feel like hair again. I started getting relatively frequent Olaplex 2 treatments at the salon, and noticed a world of difference. My hair was soft, curly, and stopped breaking. I also played around with Steps 1 and 3, but Step 2 still remained my favorite.

What is Olaplex?

Our simple three-step process includes a patented active ingredient that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair that are caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage. You can use Olaplex to restore compromised hair, or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance.

Olaplex Step 2 is a bond perfector…

Our second salon step continues to rebuild and restore any remaining broken bonds ensuring the strongest, shiniest, and healthiest hair possible.

When I was getting my last treatment, my hair stylist suggested I try the Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner because she’s never seen anything like it. Naturally, I was intrigued, so when I got the set for Christmas, I dove right in.

The Shampoo: Step 4

Wow, have I found my new favorite shampoo. In addition to the heavenly smell and thick texture, this lathers like no other. I feel like I am truly treating my hair, and when I wash it out, my hair feels clean, strong, and soft. My hair has been shiny, frizz free, and has never felt better. I would highly recommend, and I plan on repurchasing!

The Conditioner: Step 5

I had high hopes for the conditioner after falling in love with the shampoo, but I was not as impressed by this product. I have the thickest hair, and my curls get SO tangled. I need a very heavy conditioner on the daily to get through my hair, and I felt like the Olaplex conditioner just wasn’t as heavy or moisturizing as I needed. It smelled great, and after playing around, I found that I needed to squeeze the water out of my hair before applying and use a very liberal amount. For the price, I don’t know if I would repurchase, but it was great to try and I am sure it amplifies the effects of the shampoo.
