Shop Miss A- Full Face of $1 Makeup

When I heard of Shop MissA, a site where everything costs $1, I was skeptical. Budget makeup can often be disappointing, but when you find something good, you find something really good! So when I was reordering my favorite style of lashes, Kara 805, I decided to buy enough information to pull off a full face. Above is my makeup look pictured, below is my rundown of what is good, what is bad, and what is in between. Spoiler: there’s lots of gems!

Take It:

AOA Go Brow Mascara – Taupe

This was probably one of my favorite items from the haul. I used it on my brows in the photo above, and I have been using it daily ever since. This product is just like the Glossier Boy Brow, or a Benefit Gimme Brow without the fibers. Make sure to wipe the brush off on the side of the tube so it doesn’t clump, but besides that, this gel is incredible! My new favorite budget brow item, and it even replaces some higher end favorites

AOA Wonder Skin – Illuminating Primer

Another gem of the haul, this primer is incredible enough to wear alone and have a killer glow on no makeup days. I was so impressed by the application, staying power, and look on its own or under foundation. It gave me an unreplicatable glow that looked expensive and luxurious. Hello new favorite primer!

Zuri Shaping & Strobing Contouring Kit

These silky, almost cream textured powders are a must purchase for only $1! While the one highlight is too chunky in glitter and the one bronzer is too orange for my skintone, they make great shadows. The matte highlight works wonderfully under the eyes, and the bronzer is spectacular to chisel out the cheeks!

AOA Lumi Blush – Rose Dawn

THIS BLUSH! I absolutely love it to create a glowing look on the cheeks that doesn’t even need highlight. Easily my new favorite blush, and it looks great to create a monochromatic look on the eyes and lips too. I plan on grabbing all the shades!

AOA Wonder Baked Eyeshadow – Ivy

These stunning baked eyeshadows were super pigmented dry, and I am really looking forward to trying them wet! The green was the focal point of my look, and I was impressed by how pigmented it looked. I would love to try more colors.

Intense Colour Waterproof Eyeliner – Black

This black liner has an incredible brush, a sleek and shiny finish, and is incredibly black. It made a great wing, and for $1, you can’t beat it.

AOA Oh Honey Lip Oil- Honey

This lip oil smells great and feels great, and is perfect to wear alone for some shine and moisture, to prep for a lipstick, or even as a base for putting on a powder product!

AOA Sugar Lips Scrub- Rose

A totally extra step, but if you feel like going above and beyond in your makeup routine, this scrub smells incredible and leaves your lips smooth with just the perfect amount of grit.

AOA Wonder Matte Liquid Lipstick -Boujee

I love these liquid lipsticks! They are the exact formula I like, super thin yet full coverage and not drying. I hate those matte drying lipsticks that feel like cement on your lips. This allowed for movements and is a great dark brown fall color.

Take It Or Leave It:

AOA Perfect BB Cream- Fair

This BB cream has a very thick texture but is not high coverage. I find it to be a bit shiny, rather than matte, and it doesn’t look awful on the skin, but I find it elaborates bumps on my skin and doesn’t do the job on its own. I definitely don’t dislike this BB cream and plan on continued use, but I don’t see myself repurchasing because my skin texture wasn’t my favorite. The shade was flawless and it had great staying power, so I can’t wait to try more foundations from AOA!

AOA Perfect Pressed Powder- Porcelain

This pressed powder provides great coverage and a matte look, but in the end, it is just a pressed powder. If you’re looking for something budget friendly, this will mattify the face, but it’s not stand out like some loose powders I’ve tried.

Amuse Beauty 5 Color Concealer & Corrector Palette

This fun looking concealer palette is creamy and perfect to brighten up under my eyes. It’s not full coverage, but the moisturizing texture feels great and lightweight. The tones also don’t work the best for blemishes, and the darkest shade isn’t functional.

AOA Halo Highlighter – Blissful

This highlight is very pretty, but does not pack as much of a punch on the cheeks as it does in the pan! If you need something subtle and low cost, this works well, but it isn’t a must have.

Leave It:

Santee Eyeshadow Eye Primer

I’m not a big eye primer fan to begin with, and this didn’t convince me otherwise. I plan to use it up because I have it, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Amuse Basic Nudes Shadow Set

While they get the job done setting up the shading for the eye look, the shadows were a bit powdery and not super pigmented.

AOA Pre & Hyper Fiber Mascara

Hands down, my least favorite item from the haul. It irritated my eyes, felt sticky, and the fibers made a mess. Maybe would work better on less sensitive eyes.

IMG_5368

AOA Wonder Brow Pomade- Taupe

I’m not a brow pomade user, but I figured $1 was the perfect time to try it. The shade is great, but I just didn’t find the product to be much more pigmented than an eye pencil, but it was harder to apply.

AOA Wonder Lipliner- Naked

Although the color was beautiful (pictured above next to the beautiful liquid lip), the pencil was just too stiff for my liking. There are plenty of creamier, low priced lip liners that I would rather reach for.

The F5 & E105 Kabuki Brush Duo

These brushes had me really excited, but the fibers weren’t very soft and felt very plastic-like. Of the two, I would suggest the eye brush over the face brush. The face brush left my foundation a bit streaky and didn’t feel the best either. The actual make of the brush is high quality (no shedding!).
