Perfectly imperfect. It’s the Salt and Pepper Diamond.
Over the past few years, I’ve grown increasingly in love with a salt and pepper diamond. What once were considered the lower grade diamond is making a comeback in the jewelry field. Its speckles of black and white show character, resulting in a unique and one of a kind piece. For engagement rings, they’re seen as a reflection of imperfect yet beautiful love.
I’ve linked a blog here with more information on salt & pepper diamonds, which describes more about what makes them different. The spots within the diamonds are referred to as inclusions, and all of them are different. This usually results in a smokey and mysterious appearance, that may not shine as much (only because it is less clear, so less refraction). The diamonds are seen as a bit wild and untraditional, which I believe makes it all the more special.
I’ve seen these diamonds used in engagement rings and earrings mainly. I am OBSESSED with those rings, and that would be a dream for me (hint hint!). The diamonds are cut in many different cuts (anything you’d expect from any other kind of diamond), and also in raw form. Both result in beautiful jewelry.
Etz is a jeweler that creates pieces crafted with a purpose. Based in Jerusalem, Israel, their artists hand craft stunning and unique pieces (like engagement rings and earrings), using the highest quality materials that have spirit and soul.
These earrings from Etz were a special gift from my parents, made from real gold, salt & pepper diamonds with a rose cut, and love in Jerusalem. They’re milky, magical, and the perfect daily stud. I wear them and love how they catch the light and shine, keeping my look elevated and kissed with glow.
So, are you swayed over to the salt and pepper train? I think they’re stunning, and you should definitely check out Etz Jewelry for some pieces with heart and character.
