Way Fruit Farm Fall Festival

Do you ever just stumble upon good, clean fun and have a magical day? That’s what happened to Collin and I at Way Fruit Farms during their Fall Apple Festival. A suggestion from a friend turned into hours of fun for the two of us.

Way Fruit Farms is located about 15 minutes from State College, PA in Port Matilda and is very easy to get to. This 2 weekend event turns the farm into a community wonderland. There’s vendors selling crafts, an apple slingshot, fun rides for children, kettle corn, apples and pumpkins for sale, apple dumplings, a bunny pen, and more (which I will describe in a minute).

While we didn’t directly do the above mentioned things, we did walk around to observe and soak it all in. Our day was spent doing a few fun and meaningful activities after exploring.

First, we walked around the farm’s store, which is a farm food wonderland! We loved seeing all the local goods and purchasing some yummy items. Their cider is delicious (I say as I drink a hot mug), and they sold the most beautiful bell peppers and onions that we grabbed for tacos.

Then, we decided to hop on their pumpkin tractor! The ride took us to their pumpkin patch, which I kid you not, was a dream come true. Pumpkin plants were everywhere in site, and we got to go on a treasure hunt through the field to pick our perfect one. We found a perfectly round, orange, little one that we then carved for my front porch. At only 32 cents a pound, it was a deal for all the fun we had!

Once we got back to the main farm area, we went to their cafe to enjoy some hot apple cider and the most delicious, warm apple cider donuts. What a fun, fall filled day. We sat outside to eat while watching the magicians.

This event was also wonderful, because 10% of everything was being donated to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. I love events with heart.

If you’re in the area, look into having this fun fall time! Do you go to any farms or fall festivals that you just love?
