Ever dream of having your own, customized skincare, made just for you? MXT takes that dream and makes it a reality, and I’ll tell you what, there’s nothing more luxurious than a set of skincare made for you , with your name on it.
I received this set for Christmas, and my mom went through all the work of personalizing this for me. As soon as I opened it up, I was blown away. A beautifully packaged box of skincare with my name on it, ready for me to enjoy. She said working with the company was a dream, and it truly added to the special experience. The packaging, from the initial wrapping to the actual product tubes, was also spectacular.
What is it? A custom skincare company that mixes the best ingredients just for you. You can either mix the products yourself, or have them mix it for you. I say leave it to the experts! There are serums, cleansers, masks, moisturizers, and more available to mix with classic ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and antioxidants to more unique items like ferments and mushroom derived ingredients.
Powerful, proven ingredients and amazing textures are selected by our skin care experts and our intelligent platform to create products that work for you — because they’re uniquely formulated with only your skin in mind.
In my gift set, I received a clay mask, cleanser gel, serum, and toning spray. My mom completely focused on my skincare wants and needs and customized that to me. She did a great job, and it was a fantastic gift. Keep reading for individual product descriptions and reviews! Also, as a scientist, I love the science behind each ingredient. I reference the ingredients in my review, and if you go to the bottom of this post, you can read all about each ingredient if you were curious in adding that to your own skincare!
Custom Mixed Red Rescue Clay Mask with Shitake Mushroom Extract and Immortelle Helichrysum Flower
That’s a mouthful! This mask is designed to hydrate, yet clarify the skin, which is exactly what I need. I have dry skin but still get acne, and the combination of the not drying red clay and hydrating ingredients works fantastically. There’s also CBD oil, Oat Kernel Oil, Echium Oil, and Astaxanthin in the mask, contributing to an overall nourishing effect.
This mask is my favorite product of the set. Every time I use it, my skin looks radiant and beautiful the next morning, and I feel so confident in my skin that I can skip the makeup!
Custom-Mixed Strengthening Serum Concentrate with Gotu Kola Anti Redness and Yarrow Extract
This serum promised to resurface and provide a smooth and flawless complexion with the power of Gotu Kola, Yarrow, Esculin, Firming Peptide 338, Bisabolol, and Astazanthin. I found the serum to go on a bit oily and nice, but after using it every day for 3 months, I don’t know if I noticed much of a difference in the texture or redness of my skin. I think if I were to try another ingredient combination, I may be more impressed, but with this round, it wasn’t quite the mix for me.
Custom-Mixed Strengthening Toner with Lifting Peptides and Essential Mineral Ferment
This spritzing toner is my first step after I wash my face, and it is designed to hydrate and decongest. It feels so wonderful on, and doesn’t make my face feel dry like many toners do. This is due to the named ingredients above, plus KDA Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Cell-Turnover Peptide, and Maca Root Extract. Between the smell and feel, this is a solid product I can get behind.
Custom-Mixed Pore Minimizing Foaming Cleanser with AHA Fruit Acid Complex and 130 kda Hyaluronic Acid
This face wash is great to make my skin feel clean yet nourished and not stripped. I wouldn’t use it for makeup removal, but the fruit acid, hyaluronic acid, and the Frangipani extract, Bromelain, and Amino Acid NME combine into an effective and pleasant cleanser. A+!
Overall, I was most impressed by the face mask and least impressed by the serum. I’ll definitely be purchasing another mask. What is most impressive to me is the vast amount of ingredients and amount of science and customization that goes into the products. I would highly recommend trying them out and blending your own special set of skincare. Speaking of science, scroll more to read my ingredient education guide!
